Santa Fe filmfest to screen ‘Loculus’

The Santa Fe filmfest in the US is to host Iran’s ‘Loculus’.

The Santa Fe Film Festival in the US has been slated to host Iranian short flick ‘Loculus’.

The 15-minute film, directed by Amir Roueeni, will go on screen at the 22nd edition of the US event.

“Power is out in the cemetery's mortuary. The mortuary's personnel realize that something’s wrong due to the stinking smell. There's also a corpse there, belonging to a ten-year-old boy’s mom,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Amir-Ali Roueeni, Nazanin Karimi, and Davoud Zarchi form the main cast list of the flick.

‘Loculus’ has so far participated in a number of global events, including the SCHLiNGEL International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience in Germany, the New Filmmakers New York Film Festival in the US, and the Zoom ZBLIZENIA film festival in Poland, where it grabbed the best film award.

The Santa Fe Film Festival is an annual event that “honors everyone working both on and off screen to bring the best of film creation, production and showings to the public”, the website of the event reads.

It “focuses on bringing together distinguished industry specialists and all movie lovers” through accessible screenings, panels, and workshops.

The upcoming edition of the Santa Fe Film Festival will take place on February 3-13, 2022.
